The team work that happens is just amamzing

Today this is just a great big thank you to everyone who works together across the pages of face book coming together to save the lives of shelter animals everywhere. I happen to live in southern Calif. so I get to see this end of it but I am  also aware it goes on everywhere. It is truly a wonderful sight to see happen when it starts out and gains momentum to finally heading to a shelter to save countless lives. Lives that would  have never been saved several years ago if a multitude of things didn't come together and make the internet, facebook etc. and are saved on a daily basis for all those reasons plus a respect, love and outpouring of kindness of strangers who would have not come together otherwise on this level to save as many animals as they have.
The other day I was asked why I did this, when you could go get something different. Well not really because I take care of my grandmother who at times is impossible I have to do things for her at the last minute and I was injured on the job both hands and got no money for being injured. I have never been released to do a job as I once could nor can I ever again. I do not collect an money from SSI. I need to do something meaningful in my life felines have always played a huge part since I was 2 years old in my life. Then I read  on the page of Allyson about Allyson this is what it said  "My news years wish is that maybe my transporting picture's will help... get the word out there that transporting is an amazing exeperience... and is a big part to helping rescue's save cats and dogs!!"

Had I never stumble across her page or read that in her info I would never have started doing what I do now, transporting. What happened was one random act of kindness on my part asked by someone else for me to do, safely get a kitten out of Orange who was about to be killed in a day or two. Now one rescue a raining night has turned into many rescues for felines and the people who work tireless daily to save them.

I witnessed today puppies popping like felines had been doing over the past week, and again how a tight knit huge network of individuals devoted to saving lives put the word out with an urgency and how it might take 5 minutes or an hour or so but how it all comes together with a happy ending saving many lives that have just started that won't end in a shelter at the hands of death...
God bless all of you who never sleep, who will never get rich doing this, but do it because it's the right thing to do, to love, care and respect all living creatures.

What a group is doing to combat the animal shelter holocaust

I am amazed by two things on this topic, each one is at the complete opposite side of the other. Let's start out with the Humane Society, ASPCA, PETA, and still maybe on the fence or not with the before mentioned Best Friends. The first three are without question nothing close to what they claim to be when it comes to the well being of our pets whether it's a dog, cat, bunny etc. they have a good front (P.R. Department) with their tear jerking commercials that we have believed for so long, but as know we things are getting worse not better for misplaced, lost or homeless pets. Then we must question they why to these protectors of our animals that we have trusted for so long. As with everything corrupt it isn't hard to figure out, if you just follow the money. The money always leads to the truth along with accurate and documented incidents where they have been caught red handed, killing, torturing them, mistreating them basically no respect for life.
Once a chef I know how the numbers can be manipulated to say anything you want them to. s When you are a master at deception like the above three. Whether it's the money they raise and the less then adequate amount they give back in the name of "loving, caring and protecting" our pets. To their manipulation of laws, worded in such a way for the average joe to say "hey the care that's a good thing" but there is always a word or two rarely used today but maybe in the 1700's but sounds great in the bill but will null and void anything that is in  in favor of the animal. It is always in the best interest of the  shelter to do as they see fit.
We are more  aware of how they see fit to take care of shelter animals simply put "they don't". Yet we really never hear much about it in the local news,  although I personally stopped watching news on T.V. of any kind 11 years ago, Nothing about the holocaust of animals taking place across our country. Lots of money spent on how the "No Kill Equation" not working when it has been proven in many situations to work. Constantly pointing the finger instead attempting to fix a obviously broken system, Greed Greed Greed at the cost of the lives of these precious and lovable animals. Being put to death for no apparent acceptable reason. Again no one being held accountable if they are it' because the public is calling for their heads to be gone.
Now take a group of people who have one common interest, passion and love to save all the savable animals or at least try sometimes trying to save an animal that is healthy who is set to be killed can be a four to five hour process and argument with the village idiots that are in charge of the shelter. This group has come together each of them donating something they have to offer to help and become part of a team. This team doesn't have millions of dollars in donations from anyone not backed by any big name companies. They don't have cold steel metal cages (nor would they), the have none of what those big three have. But they have compassion and respect, they work frantically as a team sleeping very little some on limited incomes, some holding down a regular demanding job and doing this.
The amazing thing about this group with nothing is they have done more to save the sick and treatable pets, they have given life to more animals probably then the big three combined with limited resources. Why can they do it and have to fight with the shelters to want to remove an animal before it's to sick. Why do they have to watch innocent and healthy animals being killed because of? How is it that these amazing people know more about how to care for, treat and keep illness down among those that they save. They don't get paid money for doing this as a matter of fact they are getting a bad rap because of what they doing is a great thing with positive results.
When I hear a shelter vet has his or her concern about this underground railroad of saving animals is a bad thing because they are spreading diseased animal all over the US. REALLY !
you have the balls to say that when you do this on such a level that all the animals are killed because you couldn't take the time to follow a safe protocol or implement one. Basically you can't be bothered to do your job safety of our pets first. Make sure the are healthy before you mix them all up. Make sure they are eating everyday as a feline is the only animal that has to eat everyday whether you have to force it until does and of course if it's not eating then something is wrong. I know for a fact two felines I just recently transported hadn't eaten when I got them. The third one I saved was malnourished under weight and had a bad case of URI and would have killed in two days on it's review date because of how it was treated in the care of a shelter.
Why is it the ones with all the money can't pull their heads out of their greedy asses and see what they are doing is wrong. (I know why but I pray there is a special place for them) come really 1/2% from the humane society to all the shelters across the US.

I stand up and I applaud those who do not have t.v. commercials, they don't make the massive bucks, they don't have the massive resources, they average person who has the heart made of gold, the love and dedication it takes. The days when all you want to do is kill someone or cry. I lift my glass to you the true heros the real and honest person who is actually saving lives instead of taking them. Not an easy task to do and it takes a team effort with a group of animal loving people to pull together and do it and they do day after day. Fighting the system that has let us and the animals down trying to right the wrongs of a brainwashed society and the greedy bastards that are in charge. I thank you for your efforts I applaud you for not backing down even at the worst of times you are my heros and my inspiration to do something to help.
The next time you are thinking about giving to the above three, remember the individuals who make up a team research and give your donations to them no matter how big or small no matter what it is time, blankets, litter it all adds up and makes a difference in a life of a saved feline.
Thanks for listening and reading this....we have to wake up the others that are unaware and educate them on this horrible thing that goes on everyday behind their backs by trusted people we employe.
Please forgive me for the typos one day I will proof read but it's always 3am when my day is done. Bless all of you

The Shelter Holocaust Epidemic taking place in this country

I can not believe the people who are hired to "run our shelters" that's right they belong to us, because we pay them, they work for you and me. I use the term work loosely as I will will use the word adequately the same. I am not sure what the different people are paid doing their different jobs, from the top down. For some reason we live in a state and a country for that matter that when you work for the government (the fastest growing job market) you don't have to follow any rules, you get paid well, you technically do not have to know a fucking thing about the "job" you are hired to do, you get a pension and then you get to have an attitude that you are better then the rest of us especially at some of the shelters, you know more then we know (because you are employed by a corrupt government that tells you you are and to lie to us we are stupid). What happens when you give the little people power it goes to their head as the have no brain in there something has to fill up there fat egotistical empty area.
Right now what I am seeing as well as so many of us, because we are not dumbed down and we have compassion oh yes darn it we all have brains that function properly. Is the holocaust going on at to many local area shelters in addition to ones across this country. The death and destruction brought on by the lack of their ability from the top down to either do the job the were hired to do or even do it effectively (by the way effectively doesn't mean mass killing of cats, dog, rabbits etc.) It means being responsible doing the job you were trained and went to school for? to do (we are paying you and you are taking the check which comes out of our pockets) Time and time again you have failed to do your jobs properly (you still get paid so who cares) when you fail on many levels who pays the price not any employee of the shelter only it's occupants pay, the ones we have entrusted you with to take care of them as we have been told, through pain and suffering from the diseases that are treatable and preventable. Which only says to me is that you have no clue what you are doing, don't care or you are too lazy to follow the measures to keep these illnesses out. Come on really is it that hard to do?

Because of your neglect inability to do a job properly etc. then they become so unacceptable for anyone to adopt they are killed by you. But I have seen healthier ones be killed then the sick ones, and the vast majority all are treatable if my god you treated them like you are suppose to and hired to do.
This holocaust epidemic that is plaguing the shelters killing the animals, preventable, why isn't anyone being held accountable for not doing their job effectively and/or correctly?
Seriously it times to take action against all you bumbling douche bags who think you are doing a job when you are in embarrassment to say the least to places like Austin or anywhere a no kill shelter is. It's time to rid ourselves of you and your greedy lazy asses and let people who care and love animals take over and do it...They probably would do it gladly for no pay just the proper equipment and food to keep the babies healthy happy safe and warm.

Teach CJ new phrases and/or words

The best investment for me and felines has been these little package of four soccer balls, which she has just loved since day one. When she is looking for something to destroy or mess with I tell her "go get your ball where is your ball" and after a few days of this she knows what I am talking about. If she doesn't see it all of a sudden her little nose starts to smell for them and off she goes.

CJ Monkey is what I now call A1071562

I recently had a good friend pass away at was sometime during the early evening, she was found the next day on the floor with her dog who hadn't left her side. A dog she swore see was going to wait to get until she moved. A dog she got to enjoy for over a year. So in honor of my friend whose initials CJ and because the cat thinks she is a monkey most of the time, the rest of the time just a bad soccer player...
She still has the occasional sneeze which I was worried about but where I live it's so dusty, so the dog, her and I sneeze together. Her being saved as led to many opportunities for me and for those out there. CJ was a blessing for me, born a year to the day after my beloved goofey passed away. Came into my life right around the time I learned of goofeys illness and he didn't have much time.
So looking at this one kitten I was asked to pull so it would be safe has led to so many other positive things happening and that will continue to happen. One can see how a random act of kindness can turn into multitudes of kindness. Through helping, through meeting new people new contacts all with the same kind of heart and love for the little voiceless ones out there we call pets. It is not the feline that is the pet it is the owner, and I would swear  goofey and her had some kind of conversation before she came into this world and the ball was set into motion for me to pull her that day because for those first 48 hours she did many things as goofey had.
So all is well that continues to be acts of kindness......

Being a superintend of an animal shelter. I found this interesting as well as conflicting...

I work for a municipal shelter animal shelter. I’m responsible for planning the budget; making sure that we’ve got the money, and where to spend it, and where to put it. I buy vet supplies  we have animals up on the floor that have been temperament tested and they’re behaviorally sound. I have to make sure the animals are properly cleaned, and properly fed, and if they’re sick they get treatment. I talk to people when they bring in animals.

A lot of my duties are trying to educate people: publicity-type stuff, press releases, and educational materials and literature and trying to make people aware of what is responsible pet ownership and how can you make pet overpopulation go away. Spay-neuter; we preach spay and neuter, spay and neuter. We instituted micro-chipping about four or five years ago, so it’s helped us to get animals back to their owners. It’s a permanent form of identification, even if pets lose their tags, and collars, and all that.

I belong to a group called S.A.W.A., which is Society of Animal Welfare Administrators. We all try to work together and figure out what we can do to make pet ownership easier for people, but then, also look at, what people are doing wrong, and what crimes are being committed against animals. So, that’s part of my job, too, is to look at animal cruelty and people that are breaking ordinances.
So, a lot of my job is just really meeting with people, talking to the public, talking to aldermen. We work under the police department so I do answer to the Chief of Police.

The last paragraph reads "A lot of my job is meeting and talking to the public" So which is it you spend a lot of time talking to the public or over seeing the care of animals etc. If they are promoting responsible ownership and look for crimes committed against animals. Yet shelters are the leading cause of death, wrong doing and animal cruelty!

When I went to pick up A1071562 she was by no means the same kitten they had posted a picture of. "Very thin malnourished and a real bad case of URI which will now forever plague her with flare ups" these are the words of the vet treating her.
So Superintendent if you are out preaching one thing (or politicking) while your animals are getting sick and put to death because of the shelter. Yes spay and neuter are part of the equation on the shoulders of owners but just where and when does your responsibility begin as the care keeper of the shelter animals. How can you  you preach one thing and not practice it yourself on the job? Isn't that what the public is paying for? For you to do your job and do it correctly? Is this too much to ask. Animals (pets) are not disposable they have every right to life as you have, sadly it's you, the brain washing of the american people and the ever growing trend of greed by the MEN in charge of far too many things and aspects of our lives.
